Hi,
My name is Mihaela, and I am an Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor offering short- and long-term support both in person in Edinburgh (EH9; EH15) and online across the UK.
Being an Integrative Therapist means I draw from a wide range of proven modalities—including Psychodynamic, Humanistic, and CBT—to ensure our work is uniquely tailored to you. I deeply value flexibility and collaboration, meeting you exactly where you are to begin a healing journey at your own pace.
My approach is significantly informed by my specialised training in Compassionate Inquiry (CI), the somatic, trauma-informed method developed by Dr. Gabor Maté. I use the power of CI to gently uncover and release the core beliefs and suppressed emotions linked to childhood trauma and difficult life experiences, which often drive current struggles like anxiety and low self-esteem.
I believe that a truly collaborative and compassionate therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of effective change. I provide a confidential, warm, and non-judgemental space where we can look beyond your symptoms to facilitate genuine self-exploration, leading to increased self-acceptance and a more authentic, integrated life.
I have experience working with a wide variety of issues, including:
Life Transitions: Work-related stress, Making major life choices.
Emotional Distress: Anxiety, Depression, Stress, Loneliness, Anger.
Self-Concept: Low Self-Esteem, Low Self-Confidence, Identity issues.
Relational Issues: Relationship problems, Family issues, Discrimination.
Trauma and Loss: Childhood issues, Trauma, Abuse (emotional and physical), Loss.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
